The painting has always been Hulda Vilhjálmsdóttir’s terra firma. Her paintings are both figurative and abstract, in acrylic or oil and she has also exhibited ceramic work, collages, videos and performances. She is a searching artist. Since early in her career the woman and the power of rebirth have been a theme in her work. Read more.

Akureyri Art Museum’s new artist residency is now open for applications. A committee will select applicants and inform them within a month’s time. The guest artists who will be selected have one week to accept/decline. During their stay, it is possible for the artists to have a small exhibition in the studio. Read more.
